BETH-EL
FARMWORKER
MISSION

Beth-El Farmworker Mission is our featured ministry for February. First Church is continuing our partnership with Beth-El, a community of immigrant farm workers and their families living in poverty in Wimauma, FL, only 50 miles from Dunedin. Mark your calendars for these upcoming events!
Sunday Feb. 5 - Rev. Ramiro Ros from Beth-El is preaching at First Church. He will also be speaking to Eric Houghton’s Sunday school class.
Summer Family Mission Trip - July 22-26 - This “Challenge to Change” program is designed to combine hands-on mission with fact finding opportunities that increase awareness of poverty and social justice issues. Our trip is open to all ages, and there will be mission projects for everyone. Cedarkirk Camp & Conference Center, together with Beth-El Mission in Wimauma, will offer us a full experience of service, study, worship and personal growth. Mission projects will include teaching

Vacation Bible School to 60 children, sorting and distributing food and clothing, and light construction projects. Brochures and registration forms will be available in Hager Hall beginning Feb. 5th. Please consider participating in some or all of the days of this mission trip.
Leadership Weekend - July 20-22 - new this year, we will be sponsoring a leadership weekend for Beth-El youth the weekend prior to our mission trip. Together with the Cedarkirk staff, five teenage mentors and five youth from First Church will host up to ten Beth-El teens for a weekend of leadership training, team building and recreation at Cedarkirk. These skills will be valuable to all teens as they journey through life, and they will have a chance to apply them right away when they serve as Vacation Bible School shepherds the following week at Beth-El. Brochures and registration forms will be available in Hager Hall beginning Feb. 5th.
