According to Luke, when our risen Lord was at table with his disciples, he took bread and blessed it and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him. PRAYER FOR PEACE IN THE WORLD Woodrow Wilson said "We are not here merely to make a living. We are here to enrich the world with a finer spirit of hope and achievement - and we impoverish ourselves if we forget the errand." On this Palm Sunday, we are thoughtful of the whole world and the efforts that will be needed to seek and establish peace for all humankind. What a challenge, but what a gift to be able to see the mission and work toward it! Dear God, give us strength and vision for claiming our responsibilities and acting on them. Give us patience and skill to help others when we would rather look the other way. Guide us as we explore ways to strengthen the bonds of peaceful resolution among disputing parties, wherever they are, no matter what the dispute. Amen.
