Nursery Worker
Part-time, casual · $15–$20/hour
About the role
The Nursery Worker provides safe, nurturing, age-appropriate care for infants and young children (ages 0–6) during Sunday worship and other church events. It's a small role with a big impact: when children are well cared for, their parents can be fully present in worship.
What you'll do
-
Provide age-appropriate care — feeding, diaper changes, bathroom help, naps as needed
-
Engage children through games, stories, play, and prayer
-
Keep the nursery safe, clean, and sanitized between uses
-
Maintain the sign-in sheet and release each child only to the adult named on it
-
Follow FPC Child Safety Policies, including mandated reporting requirements
-
Build trusting relationships with children, parents, and volunteers
Schedule
Arrive 15 minutes before the first service and stay until 15 minutes after the second service concludes. Additional hours may be available for special events, based on your availability.
What we're looking for
-
Experience caring for children ages 0–6 in a childcare, educational, or family setting
-
Basic first aid knowledge; child CPR certification preferred
-
Ability to respond calmly to a range of situations, personalities, and emergencies
-
Must be 18 or older and complete a background screening before beginning work
Physical requirements
Active, floor-level work including bending, kneeling, and extended standing. May lift children up to 30 lbs. Regular contact with diapers and body fluids. Weekend availability required.
