Pack-A-Snack” is a community outreach and collaboration program of Pinellas Community Schools and Pinellas County area churches and nonprofit organizations. The program is designed to help address the problem of chronic hunger among elementary age children in our public schools. It is estimated that approximately 18% of all children in Pinellas County are eligible for free lunch.
Members of our congregation pack and provide bags of food for children at the Dunedin Elementary School and our own First Friends Preschool, to take home on the weekends, every week of the school year.
Funds are secured through grants received from the Presbytery, Dana Beck Fancher and you, our most generous members. It costs approximately $125 a school year to provide one child meals for that school year.
